Children paying the price of ‘absolute chaos’ at border – June 23, 2021

By J.M. Phelps (One News Now)

A U.S. combat veteran who has a heart for children who are victims of human trafficking is gravely concerned about the current situation along the U.S.-Mexico border – and he’s blaming the border policies of the Biden administration.

With America’s southern border in crisis, cartels and predators are exploiting children for incomprehensible reasons. According to a recent report by The Texan, at least two counties in the Lone Star State have declared states of disaster out of concerns for human trafficking and the inability of the federal government to prevent the victimization of children.

Craig “Sawman” Sawyer is the founder of Veterans for Child Rescue (V4CR) and a Texas native. He agrees with the disdain over human trafficking, human smuggling, and other violence on the southern border. In that regard, he tells One News Now, “[President] Biden’s border policies are an absolute disaster.”

The V4CR founder describes the situation as “absolute chaos [and] mayhem at the southern border.” And in the midst of the chaos, he tells One News Now, children are being exploited and harmed “at a rate never before seen.”

“[Children] are being utilized as a free ticket to get across the border, [and in some circumstances, it means] anyone from any country can pay the cartel to place a child into the hands of anyone pretending to be a family unit – and [that’s their ticket to] come into the United States, unhindered,” he explains.

Many of those children, Sawyer laments, aren’t reaching the U.S. with actual family members. “God only knows what’s happening to some of these children after they’re brought in,” he sadly adds.

The former SEAL Team Six operator admits being disgusted by the fact that the federal government isn’t responding more harshly against illegal human trafficking.

“I don’t care what side of the political aisle someone is on,” he states. “The factual reality of it is that the federal government is facilitating illegal immigration into the United States on a massive scale.”

For example, he points to the six-month, $86-million contract to house migrants in hotels with taxpayer money.

“The ability to cross the border without their biological family points to the inability of authorities to carefully and diligently check potential associations with cartels or traffickers,” Sawyer concludes. “In nearly every circumstance, [migrants and illegals] are not coming across the coming across the southern border unless they have paid the cartel first – [and] that’s an absolute.”

Children, according to the V4CR founder, have become a free ticket to avoid getting hassled at the border. “All you need is a child – and any child will do,” he describes.

And he admits being fearful that some of the adolescents coming across the border are being trafficked for sex. “If they’re not with their biological parents, but with illegal immigrants who just paid a fee to grab a child and physically bring them across the border, then there’s nothing good that’s in store for that child,” he explains.

Many of them, he fears, could potentially be sold into sex slavery.

“It’s something [America has] to face as a nation – that children are being raped repeatedly and bought and sold into what most would believe is an unthinkable scenario,” he points out.

“There’s a dark side to this [situation at the border] that the mainstream media is not getting around to covering,” he continues, admitting the current administration’s apparent lack of concern angers him. “One side of the political aisle seems willing to accept sex with a child as though it is somehow normal, [while] the other side realizes that it is absolutely morbid and destructive.”

Because children cannot advocate for themselves against a full-grown predatory adult, Sawyer says they have to be protected against the life-shattering, traumatizing experiences of those who want to exploit them or simply ignore them.

“Children must be defended at all costs,” the combat veteran concludes.
